Terms of Service

Last updated: 16 July 2026

1. Who we are

KnowThinkLearn ("the Service", "we", "us") is a web-based planning suite for teachers and schools, operated by KTL Consulting, a sole proprietorship registered in South Africa. You can reach us at contact@knowthinklearn.com.

2. The service

The Service provides guided tools for concept-based unit planning, lesson design, assessment design, and report writing, together with worked exemplars and reference material. We may improve, add, or retire features over time; where a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell subscribers in advance.

3. Accounts

You need an account to use the planner. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity under your account. Accounts are for individual educators; school and team licences covering multiple users are available by arrangement.

4. Subscriptions, billing and trials

Paid plans are billed as a monthly or annual subscription, as shown on our pricing page. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: Paddle provides customer service for purchases, handles returns, and collects and remits applicable taxes on our behalf. Paddle's buyer terms apply to your purchase.

New subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial. A payment method is collected at sign-up and the first charge is made when the trial ends, unless you cancel before then. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled as described in our refund policy.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the unit plans, lessons, assessments, comments, and other material you create in the Service. You grant us the limited licence needed to store, process, and display that content in order to run the Service for you. We do not sell your content and we do not use it to advertise to anyone.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to gain unauthorised access, disrupting its operation, reselling access without an agreement with us, uploading unlawful material, or infringing the intellectual property of others. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, with notice where reasonable.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, planning frameworks as expressed in the product, and exemplar content, belongs to us or our licensors. Curriculum standards and assessment criteria referenced in the Service remain the property of their respective publishers; the Service paraphrases rather than reproduces them and attributes their sources.

8. Availability and disclaimers

We work to keep the Service available and dependable, but it is provided "as is" and we cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service supports professional judgement; it does not replace it. You remain responsible for your own planning, assessment, and reporting decisions.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Ending the agreement

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. On request, we will delete your account and its content as described in our privacy policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify account holders by email or in the product before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Nothing in these terms limits any non-waivable consumer rights you hold in your country of residence.
